Requirements for Baptism:

    1.  Parent(s) must be registered in the Parish for at
least three months

    2.  They must come into the Parish Office to make
arrangements for the Baptism and complete the
necessary paperwork to record in the Baptismal
Register.

    3.  God parents must complete a form that is to be
taken to their respective parish for signature of the
pastor or his designee.  The Parish Seal must be
placed on the form.  The form contains questions that
must be answered by the godparents and must be
signed in the presence of the pastor or designee
.  This
form is a permit signifying that they are in good
standing in the Catholic Church and that they have
received their sacraments.

    4.  Parents and godparents must attend a baptismal
class.  This can be the class at Immaculate Conception
or at a Catholic church of their choosing.  They must
bring the certificate of attendance to the office before
the baptism.

    5.  Baptismal classes are held on the Tuesday of
each month prior to the Sunday baptisms.  See the
calendar link on this website, look in our Church
bulletin, or call the office for dates and times.

    6.  Baptisms are performed on the third Sunday of
each month except December due to the Christmas
busy schedule.

When the parents come in to make arrangements, they
must bring with them a copy of the
birth certificate or
the notification of birth that is given them at the hospital.

All paperwork must be at the Parish Office prior to the
baptism.  This includes:  Request for Baptism,
godparents' permission, birth certificate, certificate of
baptismal class attendance.

After the baptism has taken place, the Church
secretary will prepare the Baptismal Certificate, record
the baptism in the proper register, and mail the
certificate to the parent(s).  Typically, the certificates
are mailed within a week of the baptism.

Adults wishing to be baptized should call the parish
office or contact the Director of Religious Education.
Requirements for Marriage:

    1.  Couples wishing to get married must make an
appointment with the deacon to complete paperwork
necessary for the marriage.

    2.  The deacon or the priest will interview the bride
and the groom at the appointed time.  The proper
questionnaires will be completed and signed.

    3.  Forms for the parents or someone who has
known the person must also be completed.  This form is
called the Free Status of Marriage.

    4.  During the interview with the deacon or priest, it
will be determined if other form(s) will be necessary to
be sent to the Chancery for approval.

    5.  A date will be set for the wedding after checking
the Appointment Calendar to ensure the date is
available.  The couple should always have an alternate
date in case there is a conflict.

    6.  Prior to the wedding, another appointment must
be set to arrange for the rehearsal, obtain additional
information regarding the marriage, inform the couple
about obtaining the marriage certificate, and to ensure
that all information has been received at the parish.

    7.  The couple must attend a weekend retreat
(Engaged Couples Retreat or Marriage Enrichment)
prior to the wedding.

    8.  A booklet will be provided the couple to select
readings and to inform the deacon or the pastor of any
extras to be added to the ceremony, such as lasso,
unity candle, who will bring the offerings, etc.  This must
be brought to the parish prior to the wedding date.

The couple is responsible for providing music, flowers,
unity candle, etc.  Flower petals and rice are not to be
strewn inside or outside the church.

Rehearsal is typically held the Friday before the
wedding at 6:00 pm in the church.  The marriage
license should be brought to the deacon or pastor on
the day of the rehearsal.  The latest a wedding can be
held is 1:00 pm.  Flowers and decorations must be set
up prior to the time of the wedding.  The church is open
early to allow time to do so.

It is very important that weddings start on time.  The
wedding party should all be at the church at least 15
minutes before the ceremony is to start.  The couple will
take the marriage license and have it recorded in the
proper county.

The office secretary will record the marriage in the
proper register and send notification of the marriage to
the parish where bride/groom were baptized for notation
in their baptismal records.
